Electric Lawn Mowers

If you don’t enjoy spending hours slaving away behind an odor some petrol push mower, you may want to take a look at electric mowers. You can relax and enjoy a quiet, smooth ride around the garden as your mower does all the heavy work. In addition, your mower will not be emitting the pollutants that petrol powered lawn mowers emit.

Many of these mowers are designed to cut the grass before it is compacted by the front wheels. This makes it easy to get the grass cut in one pass. You will no longer need to go back over the same strip of grass several times to catch grass that was flattened by the front wheels and then popped back up again moments later. Although these mowers are ideal for large lawns, they can be used in small yards, as well. They maneuver well enough to cut around trees and bushes or to follow the curve of a flower bed.

Most electric mowers can be used all year long, since attachments are available to turn these grass cutting machines into snow plows or even wagons. You can also find a grading attachment so that you can use the mower to get some serious landscaping done quickly and easily. If these attachments don’t provide enough flexibility for you, you can find tiller, sweeper, and even vacuum attachments for your mower.

While electric push mowers often have limited use because of their awkward cords, electric ride-on mowers operate a bit differently. To use these mowers, you will still need an electrical outlet, but you will only use it to charge the long lasting battery in the mower. Most of these mowers have batteries that hold a six to eight hour charge. This will give you plenty of time to get your garden and lawn into shape before you will need to recharge the battery. In fact, once your battery is charged, you can add an optional inverter to most of these machines to turn them into a portable power supply source, as well.

Although these electric mowers are long lasting and durable, you should still have most models maintained yearly for optimal performance. A yearly tune up does wonders for the longevity of these machines. If your battery is not holding a charge as long as it should after a few years of use, you may need to buy a replacement battery, but most of these batteries work well for ten or even fifteen years.
